About Me
Hi! My name is Martha. For just about as long as I can remember, I've loved creating things. When I was a kid and my mother was selling her paintings, I had my own little stand for beaded necklaces. Using beads and fabrics--combining colors, shapes, textures--was right up my alley. And it still is!
Jewelry has always been my primary artistic passion. I am a graduate of the North Bennet Street School's program for Jewelry Making and Design and I work out of my own fully-stocked bench jeweler's shop. The shop itself has some history to it, most of the equipment having been previously owned by another NBSS graduate, a recently retired master stone-setter for many of the jewelry stores in the area including the now-defunct Service Merchandise. As you can imagine, I have plenty of nice, well-loved and well-maintained stone-setting tools to work with.
I design primarly using CAD and good old-fashioned paper and pencil sketches. For custom designs and special projects, I will provide 3D renderings and sketches for my clients to view before the fabrication process starts. I find that touching-base with my customers during all phases of the build and design process helps make sure that I am creating exactly what the customer wants. And my training and attention to detail throughout the process ensure that my jewelry delights and dazzles.
I would love to create something for you too. Let's get started! Send me a note and let me know if you have any questions, or comments, and let me know what special piece I can make for you.
