Today, a very groovy couple is picking up their custom-designed art-deco style ring. We decided on 14k white gold and a modified art deco design, which we tweaked a little until we liked how everything fit together to incorporate a treasured cushion-cut antique diamond that had been part of a ring previously worn by the groom-to-be’s father.
The ring is one-of-a-kind and unique for several reasons. One of the most interesting features is the “wings” on each side of the stone that create an architectural setting for the stone. These wings have been hand-engraved with a starburst and line design.
The sides of the ring are also hand-engraved with a repeating braid design, which remind me just a little of sandpiper tracks on beach sand.
This was a fun and meaningful project and I think it came out nicely.
